Hunting parties meet their guide at a designated time for
breakfast. Following breakfast, hunters follow their guide to a
pre-scouted field. Upon arrival, hunters and guide will set out
the "spread" just before legal shooting time. Your party has its
own guide and pre-scouted field to hunt; no overcrowding and parties are
NOT mixed. As the birds leave the roosts and work the spread, your
guide will call them as close as possible before calling the shot.
Any downed birds will be retrieved by well trained retrievers and/or
guides. All hunts are morning only, 11:00 being the maximum
shooting time. This allows birds to feed and rest in the
afternoon. After the hunt, the spread will be gathered,
harvested birds tagged and hunters will follow their guide back to El
Campo. For a small fee, professional bird processing is available
at WaterFowl Specialties, Inc headquarters. For multi-day hunts,
processed birds will be housed in our cold storage facility.
After, lunch our guides are busy scouting for the next
days hunt; pre-hunt scouting is crucial to hunting success. This
leaves our hunters time to relax and prepare for the next morning.
Afternoon dove hunts (in season) and sporting clays are available upon
request.
